DocWorking: The Whole Physician Podcast. Doctors devote their lives to caring for others, but the time has come to prioritize the health and wellness of physicians. As physicians, we make decisions every day about how to prioritize our time, energy, focus, attention, and money. Our lives are in our own hands. But are we making these as conscious choices or are we satisfied with speeding through life in default mode? Hosts Jen Barna MD, Coach Gabriella Dennery MD and Master Certified Coach Jill Farmer interview physicians to explore ways to embrace life AND a medical career, some who’ve chosen a path less traveled and others who have optimized their lives on a traditional medical career path. As coaches from the DocWorking team, Gabriella and Jill discuss actionable tips from their experience coaching physicians. We also invite guests on business, leadership, building financial independence, and other pertinent topics to physicians. If you’re a physician, we want to hear your story! Please email Jen Barna at podcast@docworking.com to be considered. Want to learn more? https://www.DocWorking.com

Outsourcing allows you to delegate tasks to virtual assistants so you can free up your time and finally do whatever it is you’ve been wanting to do.

Take Back Your Time: Get a Virtual Assistant
Working in the medical field is fulfilling but it can also be exhausting. Physicians often sacrifice their personal time to carry out their duties. They want to go on vacations, start passion projects, or start side businesses but finding the time seems impossible. Recently, more and more physicians are giving outsourcing a try. Outsourcing allows you to delegate tasks to virtual assistants so you can free up your time and finally do whatever it is you’ve been wanting to do.

120: The Real Time Benefits of Meditation
Thursday Nov 18, 2021
Thursday Nov 18, 2021
“Which now means whatever activity I’m involved in, whether it’s for work or for family, etc., there’s a lightness to it and a speed. I wouldn't say efficiency, but a speed to it, because I’m not tripping over thoughts on my way there. That is a huge time saver and it’s worth the investment.” Coach Gabriella Dennery MD
In today’s episode, Coach Gabriella Dennery MD and Master Certified Coach Jill Farmer share the real time benefits of meditation. Coach Gabriella just got back from a Vipassana meditation retreat. She shares with us the details of the retreat and the benefits she is experiencing. This episode is all about how you can improve your life through the use of meditation and mindfulness. If you can’t get away to a retreat right now, there are plenty of options that Coach Jill shares for getting a mindfulness and meditation practice started right now where you are. You can also check out our previous episodes (number 23, 24 and 25) on the benefits of mindfulness and meditation with Dr. Antonia Stephens for more reasons to implement meditation into your life along with resources to get started.

“...and I was also tired of going to meetings where I had an opinion or someone else had an opinion, as a physician, on how the business was going, and you were literally told like, ‘Hey, just take your stethoscope and go back to the clinic. Go do what you really know how to do.’” -Ihuoma Emenuga, MD, MPH, MBA
In today’s episode, Dr Jen Barna talks with Dr. Ihuoma Emenuga. Dr. Emenuga walks us through her story, starting with her medical education at the University of Nigeria, then a move from Tunisia to London to pursue her MPH at University of London with her four children in tow, and then a move back to Tunisia followed by her move to the United States. Throughout her life she has shown bravery, strength and a love for medicine and knowledge. Now she is tackling the business of medicine in order to make healthcare work for everyone with Vie Health, to benefit patients, physicians and the bottom line of the organizations she serves.
